Click link for the video: Xoom dot com, I love???? it!
For those of us who are here in the USA and who watched The Filipino Channel (TFC), we are so familiar with the line “Xoom.com, I love it! Don’t wait in line, do it online”.
For the past years, I have been using the usual bank to bank money transfer from here to the Philippines. That means:
- Getting in my car to go to my US bank to withdraw cash. I must do it between 9am to 6pm on weekdays and 9am to 3pm on Saturdays
- Then I have to drive some miles to go to a Philippine bank branch or US counterpart.
- I have to wait in line for my turn
- Have to pay $7.00 flat rate for remittance below $3,000.00.
- Drive back home and text or call family in Cebu that the money is on its way
- Then they get it a few hours later.
A few months back, due to constant TFC viewing, and with its promise that “your loved ones will get their money in hours, not days”, I tried xoom.com. That means:
- In the middle of watching Kambal sa Uma around 8:00pm, I can log in to xoom.com
- I fill out some ID questions
- Key in information of the remittance
- Pay $3.99 (Fees vary depending on remittance amount)
- Click Authorize
XOOM!!! It’s done.
Plus
* I get email confirmation of the transaction
* I get email confirmation when the transaction is completed - meaning, if the money has been picked up.
NICE……
Two days ago, I sent two remittances for two different beneficiaries who needed it right away. I was confident they’ll get it ASAP.
Guess what?
Today, Saturday; I learned from an email from one of the beneficiaries that there’s a 4-day holding before they can release the money.
Huh?
Calling customer service does not help at all. How can they continue to advertise “ready to pick up in hours, even minutes” when they hold the fund for four days??? Even as I am writing this blog, I still can view this xoom.com commercial promising “ready in hours” not days as I watch TFC programs.
Way klaro!!!
(ten times thumb’s down)
Siguro after this, I guess I have to go back to my old fashioned bank to bank remittance. mag sight-seeing na lang ko along the way, bisan wala gud kaayo sights besides sidewalk.

Please check out this site.
This is my alternate site I’ll be using for my business activities.
I have been shopping online, from dvds, photo prints, address labels to medical supplies to shoes. So when I was introduced to this opportunity, I didn’t hesitate. It’s easy, I will just have to shop online more and visit the stores less. Of course, there are some things that only a stroll in the shopping mall can cure, but besides that, I’m willing to shift my shopping habits for the hope of creating a business for my own.

Last Sunday, I saw two men walking away from me. One man had his pants all the way up to his waist (high waist), belt and all. The other one had his halfway his behind, showing part of his undergarments.
Hmmm…. generation gap!

DINOSAURS
Dinosaurs are funny,
And they act like a bunny
Dinosaurs ate cats
And lots of bats
Dinosaurs have big thumbs
It looks like my drums.
The dinosaurs are in a hurry
Some of them are in a flurry
Some dinosaurs bang on the wall
While they play ball
Some dinosaurs are cool
But others act a fool
The dinosaurs went to their mom
To ask if they are tall
But when they got there
There was nothing at all
Some dinosaurs died
When they were bit in the side
Dinosaurs wear pants
And inside are a lot of ants
Some dinosaurs are mean
But others are green
They play hide-and-seek
And the next day they were weak
Now all dinosaurs are extinct
And it happened in a blink

Months back, I’ve read a friend’s intro to one of her photo albums in Multiply that Yahoo photos is closing down. I didn’t give it much thought assuming her info might be one of those chain emails claiming this and that are closing down.
Huhuhu. I should have checked it as soon as I could.
Today, I thought of browsing through past pictures which I have saved in my Yahoo Photos accounts. I have been saving pictures in my account since 2005.
- I put them there so as to save disk space.
- I saved them there cause they remain private until I decide to share them to some chosen few
- I safekept all of them, even those not good enough ones to merit printing, just for the sake of saving them.
I lost my breath for a second as I read the warning when I tried to log in to my account. And I was literally breathing hard when I could not get to my photos for quite some time.
Good thing I stuck with browsing and just answered some survey and then my photos appeared. Whew!!! I was relieved. For a while I thought I’ve lost them forever - years of precious moments captured in pixels.
I now have some new storage media with me. I’m sure this photo transferring thing is going to be keeping me busy for some time.

Uhm, at least your first name
I just sent one of my friends my birthdate , which incidentally was yesterday-May31, for her Birthday Alarm Calendar. On the page was a tiny box tempting me to fill up my name by asking a very curious cat like me a not-so-tempting question, "How popular are you?". With a lot of curiosity and a bit of self-love (bit daw oh?), I typed my name and here’s the result.
