God’s Promise

Sunday, September 17th, 2006

God didn’t promise days without pain,

laughter without sorrow or sun without rain.

But God did promise strength for the day,

comfort for the tears and a light for the way.

And for all who believe in His kingdom above.

He answers their faith with everlasting love.

This is a short poem printed on my desk clock which has become a permanent fixture on my study table.  A gift given to us sometime in the past by someone I don’t even remember who.  But whoever that someone is, I thank him/her for this somehow gives me comfort everytime I come home depressed from a not so great performance on long exams, or when life in general seems to be too hard to understand.
